Tai Shan Gets a Check-up at 7 Weeks Old Dr. Suzan Murray, chief veterinarian at the Smithsonian's National Zoo, listens to the 7-week-old panda cub's heart rate during its fourth health exam on the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005. The cub, born on July 9, weighed 6.2 pounds and measured 10 inches at the time of the exam. Murray and National Zoo staff said the cub looked healthy and robust, and was developing well.
