The panda cub appears alert during his seventh health checkup on Friday, Sept. 30, 2005. As part of the exam, Dr. Suzan Murray felt the cub's body for major organs. "You feel for the borders of the liver, the spleen and sometimes you can feel the digestive tract, but all I could really feel was a big 'ole tummy—and that's fine," Murray said, smiling. The cub made little grunting noises throughout the exam, said a zoo press release. The cub and his parents—Mei Xiang and Tian Tian—live at the National Zoo's Fujifilm Giant Panda Habitat.
