Smithsonian's National Zoo giant panda mother Mei Xiang checks on her cub, Tai Shan, after his ninth health exam on Friday, Oct. 21, 2005. The cub, born on July 9, now weighs 14.1 pounds and is 27.1 inches long. The National Zoo's three giant pandas live at the National Zoo's Fujifilm Giant Panda Habitat.
