City: Loxahatchee, Fla.
USEF Rank: 20

Todd Minikus began showing at the Grand Prix level in 1985, achieving great success with his gray Canadian thoroughbred, Thrilling. By 2000, Minikus' career had hit its stride. A fifth place finish in the selection trials for the Sydney Olympics earned him a spot on the team as an alternate. At 44, Todd has 121 World Cup Qualifier starts, and rode in his first World Cup Final in 2003, in Las Vegas. He has represented the United States nine times in Nations Cup competition with one win. Recently, Minikus and Pavarotti finished first in the $40,000 Winston National Grand Prix in Virginia. Show jumping fans may remember Minikus as the expert commentator for last year's Syracuse Invitational tournament. Todd wins the award for the most unusual hobby among world class show jumping riders — he likes to ride bulls for fun in his spare time.
