At only 23, native New Yorker Georgina Bloomberg is an up-and-coming rider on the international show jumping scene. Bloomberg has 25 World Cup starts, and has represented the United States four times in Nations Cup competition with one win. She had high placings in 2006, at Munich, Germany; Lexington, Ky.; and Wellington, Fla. In 2005, she was part of the group of riders that earned the U.S. first place in the highly competitive Samsung Super League series. The daughter of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Georgina says her goal, in addition to riding in the Olympics, is "to be famous some day not for what I am but for what I do." This visit to Central New York marks Bloomberg's first time competing at the Syracuse Invitational.
