Nominated by Patsy Dawson.
Harold Sims is now 72 years old, and using his own personal funds, he built a 4,000-square-foot cat rescue and adoption shelter. Tirelessly, he works 12-16 hours a day at the shelter and rescuing cats. Over 2,500 cats have been adopted from his shelter. He has no employees, just a few volunteers like myself. He does receive some donations, but covers the remaining costs (several thousand dollars a year) out of his own pocket. Words cannot express what this man has accomplished. Visit his Web site, www.catman2.org, to learn more. The cats have all the comforts of home and do not live in cages. The cats have beds, couches, chairs and screened porches to use as they please. They have satellite music and air conditioning and heat. No one, anywhere, is so dedicated to helping cats survive and find loving homes.
