Jacci Moss is the director of Friends of Felines Rescue Center and Earth Angels Low Cost Spay Neuter Clinic. Both organizations are located on her own property, and she devotes nearly all of her time to them. She has taken, in and found homes for, over 2,000 cats and kittens and has helped to spay/neuter over 7,100 cats and dogs.
Jacci's days are spent in the care of cats and overseeing the operation of the clinic. She is responsible for every aspect of both operations, and her days begin around 3 AM and rarely end before 9 PM with overnight emergency calls interrupting her sleep and family time with unfortunate regularity.
Nominator Jodi Lause says, "Jacci is, to me, the epitome of selflessness. She never turns away injured or abused cats or kittens, regardless of how full the rescue center is. She also is a highly valued board member of our local humane society and has devoted numerous hours to that organization. She also fosters abused, ill, or injured dogs which are abandoned at the local animal shelter, and participates in many community events, in an effort to further educate the public about the issues of overpopulation, animal adoption and proper pet care. She receives no salary from either organization and puts her whole heart into helping any animal she can. She is my hero, and I think she should be yours, too."
Congratulations to Jacci, our 2008 Cat Hero of the Year.
