Cathy Conhein is the "cat scribe" and avatar for Henry, a three-legged cat who has become a true hero for both adults and children through the message of courage, acceptance, and giving he has spread throughout the world with his books, emails and personal appearances.
All the income above printing and design costs from Henry's books is devoted to the care of needy animals and to providing his books to such worthy groups as First Book, families of returning wounded from both wars and other children's charities. Henry's gentle and wise view of his own physical realities has proven invaluable not only to children but also to adults who face severe health challenges, including wounded military in all of our services. Over 3,000 of his books and workbooks, Kibble for Thought have gone to the families of the wounded.
It was Cathy who made the decision to save Henry's life and then to see that his life had meaning far beyond his own home. In three years, Henry has answered over 30,000 letters and Cathy is behind it all with single-minded devotion to Henry and to all vulnerable animals—and humans. Her vision and incredible personal effort have made Henry a friend and confidant, a symbol of beating the odds, resiliency, building community, wherever someone needs to heal or to grow.
Henry's girlfriend is a two-legged dachshund named Tink, and together, they are a handful, all five paws!
