Doug and Lynne Seus When Doug and Lynne Seus adopted a grizzly bear named Bart more than 20 years ago, people thought they were crazy. What were they going to do with a grizzly bear? Already professional animal trainers, they decided to train Bart for the big screen. Bart the Bear would become one of the family and go on to star in 15 motion pictures, including Legends of the Fall with Brad Pitt. Bart's big-screen legacy lives on in the Seuses' growing grizzly family. Tank, adopted five years ago and known as the "cocker spaniel in a bear suit," starred as Archie the Circus Bear in Dr. Dolittle 2. The newest family members, grizzly cubs Little Bart and Honey-Bump, get their first taste of Hollywood in the movie, too. In addition to their hands-on work with animals, Doug and Lynne established Vital Ground, a foundation that acquires private lands and returns them to the wilderness, protecting nature and ensuring a lasting habitat for the great grizzly bear.
