Meet the Orphans
Alone, frightened, starving and despondent, a calf who has lost its family exists in a world of misery. Family, after all, is everything in elephant society, and mother's milk is what keeps a baby alive.
Meet Emily, Jipe, Lualeni, Napasha, Naserian and Wendi, six adorable elephant orphans who've been given a second chance at life at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust's elephant nursery in Nairobi, Kenya.
Thanks to hard work from staff, constant care from keepers and encouragement from their fellow orphans, all but one has made a full recovery. Today, they are happy, fun-loving little elephants with their own unique charms and personalities.
